 Publish Date :2024/04/30

As one of the organizers of COMPUTEX, Taipei Computer Association (TCA) stated that AI technologies such as generative AI (GenAI) and large language models (LLMs) are the main focuses for industrial digital transformation in recent years. AI-empowered devices such as AI PCs, AI servers, and AI phones are also expected to take center stage in this year’s COMPUTEX. According to the research firm IDC, AI PC sales are expected to grow from 50 million units in 2024 to over 167 million by 2027, accounting for more than 60% of the overall PC shipments.

A report from Gartner predicts the global shipments of AI PC and GenAI Smartphones to reach a total of 295 million units in 2024, more than 10x the 29 million units’ figure in 2023. The thinktank MIC (Market Intelligence and Consulting Institute) predicts that the global server shipments are expected to be 13.49 million units in 2024, an increase of 5.1% from the previous figures. Among them, AI servers will be positively affected from various factors, including the growing interest in and demand for GenAI and LLM, as well as the continued developments in internal enterprise models. The demand is expected to continue to rise and become the main driving force of the server market in 2024, accounting for nearly 16.2% of the entire market and grow to 21.5% by 2027.

COMPUTEX 2024 Pre-Show Forum will Explore the AI PC Industry on May 16

TCA stated that Connecting AI will be the main theme of COMPUTEX 2024. As AI PCs are able to improve corporate and personal work efficiency and work together with AI servers, they have become important devices for GenAI applications.
