Jason Lu

Jason joined Darwin Venture Management in 2020 and currently leads investment initiatives in the digital economy, software services, and automotive technology sectors, with a focus on the Taiwan, U.S., and Japanese markets. He serves as a board director of the Darwin Angel Fund and holds board or supervisory positions in six startup companies. Jason actively supports the growth and strategic development of over 20 portfolio companies ranging from seed to Series C stages. Prior to Darwin, Jason held roles at the Strategic Integration Center of the YFY Group, three startups in the mobile communications sector, and the Garage+ incubator operated by the Epoch Foundation. He also served as a project manager for the MIT–Taiwan industry-academia collaboration program, where he gained extensive experience in startup acceleration and international partnerships. Jason holds a B.B.A. from National Taiwan University and a Master’s degree in Technology Management from National Chiao Tung University. He also pursued doctoral studies in Strategic Management at NTU’s Graduate Institute of International Business and continued his Ph.D.-level coursework at the University of Nottingham Business School.

Koki graduated from Meiji University’s School of Economics and studied abroad at Rotterdam Business School during his time there. After university, he joined IBM Japan as a new graduate, working in corporate sales with a focus on hardware. He later moved to a human-resources startup, driving sales promotion and managing a team of more than ten members. In January 2021, he became Hutzper’s first employee and Director of Sales, and in 2023 he was appointed Head of New Business.
