InnoVEX 2024 Announces 4 Main Themes to Highlight Taiwan's Global ICT Advantages and Future Innovation Trends

As one of the organizers of InnoVEX, Taipei Computer Association (TCA) stated that InnoVEX 2024 will return from June 4 to 7, 2024 in Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX) Hall 2. Held concurrently with COMPUTEX 2024, InnoVEX 2024 aims to connect the participating startups with various players in the ICT industry joining COMPUTEX, including: CVCs, VCs, manufacturers, distributors, buyers, investors, media, accelerators, incubators, and more.

The full-scale return of InnoVEX in 2023 gathered over 400 startups and the number of participants is expected to grow by 15% in 2024. To address recent trends in the technology industry and to highlight Taiwan's international advantages, InnoVEX 2024 will host activities focusing on four major themes: AI, Smart Mobility, Semiconductor Applications, and Green Technology.

Growing Innovative Trends Provide New Opportunities for Startups

New applications such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI (GenAI) have become the center point for AI development with growing funding and patenting activities. Startups in GenAI have raised a total of USD 10 billion in 2023, 25% of the current value of the overall GenAI market. The smart mobility industry was valued at USD 44 billion by 2022 and expected to grow into USD 258 billion by 2031, with EVs and IoVs making up a significant portion of this number.

Green Technology which includes environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG), green energy, sustainability, etc. is expected to become even more important as companies and startups hope to achieve various climate goals such as net zero by 2050, limiting global warming by 1.5°C, and others. Semiconductors have long been Taiwan’s main industrial advantage where the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) alone is expected to generate USD 146.1 billion by the year 2024; approximately 25% of the global semiconductor production value. This vital industry also provides Taiwan a great opportunity to enter various high-value industries including EVs, LiDARs, autonomous driving, AI, GenAI, and more.
