COMPUTEX 2024 Opening Ceremony Gathered a Record Number of CEOs from World Leading Tech Companies and Promotes the AI Trend

Asia’s leading B2B ICT trade show, COMPUTEX, officially opened on June 4 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX) Halls 1 and 2. As one of the organizers, Taipei Computer Association (TCA) stated that the main theme of COMPUTEX 2024 is Connecting AI; with focus on the development of generative AI (GenAI). The main topics covered in the event are: AI computing, advanced communications, future mobility, immersive reality, innovation, and green energy & sustainability. In total, COMPUTEX 2024 is joined by 1500 exhibitors from 36 countries and regions with 4500 booths in the 2 exhibition halls who showcased their latest products and innovations in: AI PC, AI server, GenAI computing, EV, Wi-Fi 7, satellite communications, green tech, energy storage systems; as well as smart manufacturing, smart medical, digital health, smart retail, sustainability, and more. COMPUTEX 2024 is expected to gather a total of 50,000 industry professionals and visitors from around the world.

Positioned as the Innovation hub of Asia, the startup focused event - InnoVEX is held concurrently with COMPUTEX and will focus on 4 main themes: semiconductor applications, AI, smart mobility, and green tech. It gathers over 400 startups from over 30 countries and regions, making this the most diverse InnoVEX yet.

COMPUTEX is the Platform for Taiwan’s ICT Industry and Startups to Showcase Their Strengths

During the COMPUTEX 2024 opening ceremony, President Lai Ching-te stated that COMPUTEX is an important platform for Taiwan’s ICT industry and startups to showcase their strength. To promote them, the Taiwanese government will stabilize Taiwan’s power supply, including by providing diversified green power, and build supercomputers and data centers in Taiwan. At the same time, the government will continue to cultivate ICT talents while hoping that the industry can invest in Taiwan and build Taiwan to be a smart AI island together.

President Lai further shared that the era of comprehensive intelligence has arrived and a revolutionary development of AI will play a key role in this era. The Taiwanese ICT industry has gathered decades’ worth of experience which provides Taiwan a great opportunity in the AI revolution supply chain.

President Lai hopes that the industry will continue to support the government and invest in Taiwan, continuously developing Taiwan-built AI and deploying them in more innovative applications. Over 1 million SMEs in Taiwan can be equipped with AI to realize the concept of AI island; which can have a real role in Taiwan’s economic development, improve people’s lives, and contribute to the prosperity of the next generation and the world together.

Chairman Paul SL Peng of TCA stated that Taiwan has always been famous for its manufacturing prowess, but Taiwan has been actively creating innovative ecosystems and high-value software-hardware integration services in multiple fields, including: 5G, IoT, cybersecurity, data center management, smart cockpits, and more. They have performed well and attracted many international giants to establish their own R&D centers in Taiwan. Taiwan also has outstanding software and hardware engineer talents who lead developments in a large number of innovative technologies such as AI, metaverse, IoT, 5G, embedded systems, and smart mobility. This also shows Taiwan’s strength in both engineering and technology while affirming Taiwan’s position as an indispensable and reliable partner.

The opening ceremony of COMPUTEX 2024 was joined by various VIPs including President Lai Ching-te; Secretary-General to the President of the Republic of China, Pan Men-an; Chairman of TCA, Paul SL Peng; Chairman of TAITRA, James CF Huang; Minister of Economic Affairs of Taiwan, J.W.
