Thermal Flow Sensor

The thermal flow sensor is equipped with a sensor probe installed on the fluid pipeline. The probe is heated, and as the fluid contacts the heated probe, it carries away the heat. By measuring the temperature change due to the heat carried away, the flow velocity is determined and converted into a 4–20mA current output. This device can simultaneously measure two physical quantities: temperature and flow velocity.
The thermal flow sensor needs to be used in conjunction with a threaded adapter assembly, which is fastened onto the pipeline. The sensor probe is inserted into the pipeline to measure the fluid's flow velocity and temperature.
